*** 1/12/2012 - Here is the link to the new modified crane. I cut this one in half, and show all the messurments in the new video. I used 2" Square Aluminum Tubing with 1/8th inch walls that was 21 feet when ordered. I cut up the sections before leaving the weld shop so that it would all fit in my vehicle. While I was measuring, marking, and pre punching all the holes my grandfather was drilling them out on the press. I'm thankful for his help on this project because we were able to assemble it in one night. It would have taken me at least 3 nights doing it by myself! All the aluminum costs were .00. Nut's, Bolts, Washers, were .00. Lazy Susan .00 I cannot place values on the Plywood and Saw Table used on the crane because they were things we already had... I may find a larger based lazy Susan later. I have also ordered a tripod head to mount on the crane head to gain more angles. I am using a standard 1/4" mount for the camera but having the tripod head on the end will allow me to angle the camera at any direction. There is much that could be added to this crane, such as LCD monitor, swivel mount for camera with control cables for the operator, etc. But I'm going to keep it simple for a while since this is an almost zero budget hobby that quickly racks up ...
